  • Istanbul gaming salons
  • Game Okay: a little history
  • How to play Okay 101
  • Where to play Okay online
  • Where to buy Okay

Surely, many Turkish wives are familiar with this situation: as soon as the husband comes home from work, he gets calls from friends with questions, like, where are you? Will you be there soon? Is there already a fourth one? Only Memed is missing and so on. Sound familiar? And me too. These are kind of invitations to gaming cafes.

Gaming parlors in Istanbul

Istanbul gaming cafes are a kind of mini-casino, only conscious citizens do not play for money here... These are conscious citizens, I can’t say anything about others. Gaming parlors are scattered around Istanbul like fallen leaves in late autumn. For each district and quarter of the city there are 5, 10, or even 20 such cafes and, moreover, they are always full of visitors.

Such a gaming salon is an ordinary cafe with dozens of tables on which there are already cards, dominoes, checkers or the favorite Turkish game - OK. They mainly serve tea, coffee, lemonade and sandwiches. This is where Turkish men run on their days off, after work, and some instead...

Thus, we understand where Istanbul residents go in the evenings, now it remains to tell us what they do there. The answer is also simple - they play. We all know how to play cards, dominoes or checkers and chess, but not everyone is familiar with the game called Okay, so I’ll now tell you a little about it and even teach you how to play.

Game Okay

In fact, it is difficult to call such a game originally Turkish, because it comes from China. In general, it was intended for children with disabilities so that they could develop in identifying basic colors, numbers and understand simple arithmetic. The Turks took over the baton and, having slightly interpreted the rules, optimized it for an adult game that is also interesting for children to play.

The Chinese equivalent of the name is Rummy. The game is designed for four players: you can play in pairs or each for himself (a smaller number of players is also possible), and is a set of plastic keys (that’s what I call them, in the original - tash (ta?)) with numbers in four colors, plus two jokers. The game also comes with 4 stands for easy movement of the keys when you need to create sequences. A sequence is a sequence, in this case a sequence of laid out game keys.

The set of numbers consists of 1 to 13, red, yellow, blue and black. There are two analogues of each color. That is, two queues of yellow keys, two – blue, black and red.

There are several variations of the game Okay, but I'll focus on Okay 101 today.

Goal of the game Okay

The main goal of "Okay" is for the player to throw all the keys onto the playing field so that he is left with only one, which must be thrown off the table.

Start the game Okay

Of the 106 available keys, four players are dealt 21 keys in a chaotic order, which other players, of course, do not see, see the picture.

Let me describe the playing field in order.

1 is the field where the player lays out his sequences

2 is the field where the player places paired sequences

3 is the key that is responsible for information for the player, that is, okay. But in this case, ok will not be 7 blue, but 8 blue, this is due to the provision of another chance. In other words, players are offered not just one okay, but two.

4 is where the player sends his received 22nd key.

5 – next to the ok there is a deck of keys, from which the player will take the very 22nd.

Game process Okay

To play Turkish Okey you need 4 players, they rarely play with three, but I haven’t played. Initially, the 21st key is distributed to everyone. The players move counterclockwise, first one player takes his key from the deck, and then throws the one he doesn’t need to the right (see point 4).

As I said, the goal is to throw away all the keys and end the round, but you can only start throwing away keys in sequences that add up to 101.

Sequences can consist of keys with consecutive numbers of the same color, starting from three pieces, or of identical numbers of different colors, also at least three keys. For example, either 5,6,7 are black, or 8,8,8 are red, yellow, black.

A good example of collecting 101 points.

To make it easier to calculate the sum of points, you can simply take the middle keys, from the figure this is 11+11+9+12+13 = 56x3 = 168. So, there are 56, multiply it by three keys and get 168, which means we have 101 points collected, you can throw it on the field.

However, typing 101 is not yet a result, because you need to throw away all the keys. So, according to the picture, we will have 38 points left, which will be added to the player’s overall score. If you close the game with a regular sequence, throwing out all the keys on field No. 1, then -(minus) 101 points will be added to the score. And if you don’t open at all, then + (plus) 202 points. Of course, minus is good, plus is bad. We’re already used to the fact that with the Turks it’s the other way around, right?

Paired sequence in Okay

If you cannot open a regular sequence, then you can use the steam room. But pairs of numbers must be the same color and at least five pairs. For example, 7.7 black, 12.12 yellow, 10.10 red, 5.5 blue and 8.8 yellow. Here colors are important only in two numbers, and same-color pairs can be of different colors.

chief ok

Regarding the points in the paired sequence (?ift okey). All remaining keys are summed up into points and multiplied by two. That is, for example, you have 15 points left, 30 points will be added to your account. If you finish the round in which you opened Chief Okay, then -(minus) 202 points will be added to your account. Everything is fair, we multiply by two, just like the results of the opposing players. That is, if your opponent has a total of 10 keys left, and you end the game by throwing away the chief, then his score is credited +20.

Now about the interaction between the chief and the sequential sequence. If you have opened a simple sequence, you can lay out keys with OK on field No. 1 and also put chiefs on field No. 2, if it has already been opened. Otherwise, if the chief is not yet open, you will have to be content with only seri (regular sequence).

And, if you open a chief, then you can only throw out other (unpaired) keys for other sequences that were laid out by other players and it is impossible to lay out an ok separately with a sequence, it can be put in a chief with some number. Rice. Ok24

You can play in pairs, but I haven’t mastered this method yet, I only know that if your partner loses, you will also lose, even if you have good keys.

Sets in the game

As a rule, there are several rounds in an okiya, ranging from three to 11. In other words, you need to play, say, 11 rounds for the game to end, and the total points will be the result of the game.

Rules of the game Okay 101

  • An okay key is one that is one more than the one shown in the deck. There are only two of them for all keys.
  • You must have one eject key left, otherwise you will not be able to finish the game.
  • Throwing a required key on the field is punishable by adding +101 points to the score. For example, there will be a penalty for throwing an ok in the middle of the game, for throwing, for example, a red 6, if the final red 5 or 7 is placed on the field.
  • If the player does not open his keys before the end of the deck, +202 points are added to his account.
  • If the game ends okay, then the player who finished it is deducted -202 points, and the sum of the other players' points is multiplied by two.
  • If no one has opened their keys during the entire game, then the round starts over without adding/subtracting points.
  • If no one opened the keys, and only one player completed the game in a single opening, this layout is called Kafa biti?i. In this case, the finishing player is deducted -202 points, everyone else is assigned +404.
  • If a player takes a key thrown by another player (on the left), then he must throw it onto the field in the sequence. If the left key is taken, and you have not yet opened your keys, then you need to open them and be sure to throw away the key taken from the left.
  • If all four players have opened the Chief Okay, then the round is reset and starts again.
  • As a rule, one minute is given for one move. But in one round you can use the additional time of 3 minutes once.

Where to play ok online?

Ok, I’m done with the rules, now I need to tell you where you can play the game ok online. It’s simple, go to the website, register, download the client, launch it, enter your login and password into the form, select a salon and start playing.

A little about the service?ift Okey

By downloading this client, you can play different OK games, Turkish card games, and so on. For every game that ends positively for you, you receive points for your rating. There are first and second places where the player can win and get points, and third and fourth places where points are deducted. The number of points awarded and deducted depends on the number of rounds in the game. I present to you an approximate table of points:

Number of rounds|points 1st place 2nd place 3rd place 4th place
3 3 1 -1 -3
5 5 2 -2 -5
7 7 3 -3 -7
9 9 4 -4 -9
11 11 5 -5 -11

So, you can score the most points in the system by taking first place, second place is also considered winning and your efficiency in the system will increase.

The ?ift Okey system has as many as 6 floors, each of them with about a hundred salons in which almost any player can play. Some salons have restrictions on entry using points, but due to the large number of gaming salons, you will not be left without a game.

Second tip: I don’t recommend registering via Facebook, as your profile will be visible to everyone, and the Turks will pester you again.

Third tip: come up with universal nicknames, without an accent on the Russian language - this is also fraught with harassment. I checked it on myself.

In general, the game system is quite simple, so it won’t be difficult to figure it out, even without knowing the language.

System rules?ift Okey

All standard rules of the game apply to the game, plus there are additional ones.

  • The game will begin when the table leader calls; this is the player who created the table or the next one after him if the first one left the table. If the host does not make the call, the game will not start.
  • Leaving the gaming table after the start of the game is punishable by being kicked out of the system for 2 hours, plus, if a player comes to your place and loses, then the lost points will be debited from you, multiplied by two.
  • If your Internet connection fails, you will also be thrown out of the game, but you have the right to return to your table, you just have to remember the number of the salon and your gaming table. Just click on your table and the player replacing you will be thrown out of the game, and continue playing. If you do not return to your table, then any player can take your place. If you win, your points will not be deducted, and if you lose, your rating will drop exactly twice as much as the points you lost.
  • You can also take someone else's place in the game if another player leaves it for some reason, however, if he returns, the system will throw you out from the table.
  • If you finish the game under the heading “Kafa biti?i” (see the rules of the game ok 101), then you are also credited with points, the number of which depends on the number of rounds of the game. Typically these are 1,2,3,4,5. These points will still remain in your account, even if you end up losing. However, they do not affect gaming efficiency in any way.

Well, in general, that’s all about the system, if you have any questions, write in the comments and I will answer. Next is where to buy the okey gaming kit.

Where to buy ok

Well, firstly, it can be found in stores that sell toys, chess or books. Secondly, you can buy okay online. The set costs approximately 40 Turkish lira. That's where they sell okay.

That's all, you can join the game and enjoy. In fact, I found the game very interesting and exciting, now I understand my husband when he goes to play it with friends. And there are fewer conflicts in the house and you yourself can feel his mood and listen to stories about how he won today...

106 tiles in 4 colors, numbered from 1 to 13 are used in the game, including two unnumbered special tiles, so called false jokers.
The false joker is a tile with a clover leaf. It can replace only the tiles which are jokers during the game.
The jokers are the tiles of the same color and one number higher than the tile laid face up in the middle of the table when the game is started.

In the game shown above the joker is red 5. That tile replaces any other tile.

The false joker (clover) always replaces the joker tile and only that tile.

Four players play the game in counter-clockwise direction.

Each player gets 14 tiles, except the player starting the game, who gets one tile more and starts the game by discarding one useless tile.

At the beginning you should rearrange your tiles so as to gather the tiles which can create melds and decide which tiles are not needed.

The object is, by drawing and discarding tiles, to be the first to form a hand that consists entirely of sets of equal numbered tiles, and runs of consecutive tiles of the same color.

Winning hands

The object of the game is to collect 14 tiles forming a winning hand.
The winning hands are:

  • 14 tiles, formed entirely into sets and runs
e.g. two sets of 3 and two runs of 4, or a run of 6 plus a run of 4 plus a set of 4.
No tile can be used as part of more than one combination (set or run) at the same time.
    • A set consists of three or four tiles of the same number and different colors.
So for example a black 7 plus two red 7"s would not form a valid set.
    • A run consists of three or more consecutive tiles of the same color.
The 1 can be used as the lowest tile, below the 2, or as the highest tile, above the 13, but not both at once.
  • So red 1-2-3 or black 12-13-1 would be valid runs, but green 13-1-2 would not be valid. or seven pairs

. Each pair must consist of two tiles of the same color and having the same number.

To be accepted, the meld must consist of adjacent tiles, whereas each meld must be separated from one another.

In the first round every player should check if he has the same tile as the one laid in the middle of the table.

If he has such a tile, by putting it on the revealed tile in the center of the table, he takes away one point from his opponents.

  • During their turn, players can take the following actions: Draw a tile
  • – players can draw tiles from the stack in the center. A player can also draw an exposed tile from his left side that was previously discarded by an opponent. It is on the left side of the table. Discard a tile
  • – drawing after a tile a player must put back one tile onto the stack on the right side. These tiles may be drawn by one's opponent sitting on the right.

Winning notification

– in the case of all tiles (except one) are combined in melds, a player can notify winning.

To notify winning, the last tile must be discarded not to the stack, but put on the revealed tile placed in the center of the table.

In the moment of winning notification, the discarded tile can not be an element of any meld.

Scoring

  • At the beginning of the game, all players have the same numbers of points. The limit of points is determined in setting up a table.
  • The minimum is 5 and maximum is 21.
  • After each round, every player who does not win, receives negative points:

Winning notification by completed sequences and the same value melds. Every opponent loses 2 points.

Winning notification by completed sequences and the same value melds and putting back joker as the last tile.

    Every opponent loses 4 points.

Winning notification by completed 7 pairs of tiles in the same value and color. Every opponent loses 4 points.

OKEY is the first retailer to launch such a promotion in Russia. “The uniqueness of the promotion is that you don’t need to save receipts or buy anything at all. All you have to do is follow the direct link to the game’s website, indicate your phone number and hit the balls that hide the prizes. If three identical prizes match, the corresponding product can be picked up in any of our stores,” commented Sergei Kuznetsov, head of the O’KEY marketing department, on the launch of the promotion.

According to the terms of the game, the only limitation is the number of attempts - no more than once a day. The total number of prizes is 166,000 different products from the assortment of the chain stores. The prize must be claimed within 7 days after receiving the winning code.

“OKEY” is also launching the federal campaign “Football Whistles”. On April 26, the promotion starts in the chain’s stores in St. Petersburg, and from May 10 – in all other O’KEY stores throughout the country. When purchasing goods for a certain amount in the receipt, the buyer receives a football whistle as a gift. Also, from 10.05 to 04.07, additional whistles are issued for the purchase of partner products.

Bright football whistles from “O’KEY” not only jump high and far, but also whistle to the delight of football fans! They can be collected into a bright branded holder, collected based on the principle of supporting a particular team, or played with children. There are no restrictions on the number of Football Whistles received.

“The 2018 World Cup is undoubtedly the main sporting event of this year, which will not leave anyone indifferent. With every goal scored, with every prize, we make it even more exciting and interesting. For O’KEY and our partners, this is an important tool for increasing audience loyalty; we also expect that our whistles will not leave anyone indifferent, which means that traffic to our stores will increase,” noted Sergey Kuznetsov.

According to preliminary forecasts, network analysts expect a cumulative increase in traffic for both shares of up to 5%. In total, more than 50 manufacturers of food and other product categories will take part in football promotions.

Traditional Turkish coffeehouse and teahouse game OKEY

Manufacturer: Eser Okey Türkiye

Acquainted with RULES OF THE GAME and you can participate in the discussion of the OKAY game on the forum of the website turkey-info.ru

The game involves 4 people.
It is necessary to have a “game set”, i.e. 1-13 *2 red, blue, black and yellow dominoes with color and number designation = 104. I.e. there are two sets of stones from one to thirteen of each color. Plus special “boxes” for the participants of the game, where sets of dominoes are completed from those that you have in your hands.
"Okay play sets" can be bought anywhere in Turkey. Because this game is popular in all regions of this country. There are even special gaming parlors, usually concentrated near educational institutions (it’s quite clear why). You can come there with a whole group and play until you’re blue in the face, chatting and drinking tea and other drinks.

So, we have a game set + 4 players. What's next?
We distribute pebbles (let's call them that), 14 per hand. We put the rest in the center, having previously learned the “trump card”, as in cards. This stone is very important.

The goal of the game is to collect sets of consecutive numbers of the same color or one number of different colors.

How to do it?
Has 14 stones in his hands. We look at what we like, what we can use, and what we absolutely don’t need. We give what we don’t need to our neighbor on the right. Naturally, no one sees your stones, just like you see your neighbors’ stones. Everyone sees this unnecessary stone, and at the same time they note that this stone has already been released (if you suddenly need the same one), and the chance of getting it is reduced exactly by half. This means you need to think about whether you should wait for him.
The course of the game, as you understand, is counterclockwise. If you don’t like the stone that your neighbor offers you to take, then take the stone from the center (these stones lie in piles, like face-down cards, and no one knows what’s there). You took a new stone, looked at the situation and threw away to the neighbor on the right what you don’t need and wait until the turn comes to you again, and the neighbor on the left offers you a stone he doesn’t need.
In the treasured stack in the center of the table there may be a trump card that can be used in place of any of the stones you are missing.
Remember what I said about the pebble during distribution? As you can see in the picture, it lies to the left of the stack of closed, so far no-one's stones. Firstly, if during the distribution you come across the same pebble, then you have caught your luck :) this pebble is called “Gözterge” or “index” in Russian (I would call it “trump card indicator”). In the first round of the game, you must say that you have a gesterge, and the rest of the players will be deducted a point. So the next one (of the same color) behind this stone is the trump card!
(for the first picture it’s “10kr”) or “Okay”
For example, if gesterge is “5kr”, then Okay “6kr” (if it’s “13”, then Okay “1”).
You can receive Okay only during the deal or from the center of the table during the game. (So, before you take a stone offered by your neighbor, which you may not really need, remember that you can take Okay from the center.)
The game continues until someone collects a complete set and throws away the last, unnecessary fifteenth stone (in online versions, this stone is placed on top of Gösterge to show that you have finished the game). Hooray! You are super! - the neighbors are deducted one point each.

The points we play for are agreed upon at the beginning of the game. For example - 20. This means that all players at the beginning of the game have 20 points. If you win or take Gösterge, your points remain the same, your neighbors' points decrease. This continues as long as everyone has points. If someone has no points left, the game ends.

Varieties of the game or initial conditions
These conditions are agreed upon at the beginning of the game. (in the online version they are set by the one who opens the game or “table”)
1. Number of points. Can be anything, but usually 20.
2. Pairing. Usually played in pairs. (eşli) The one opposite you is your partner (ortak or orti). If you win or your partner wins, points are deducted only from the other pair. Unfortunately, you cannot “play along” with your partner and throw the stone he needs, because... Your “enemy” picks up your stones.
3. The game can be played with göztergeli or without göstergesiz. Then only the stone next to the Gösterge matters - Okay. And Gösterge is used like an ordinary stone.
4. The importance of color. Renkli<>Renksiz.
If Renkli, then red and black are considered “good” colors. Those. If your sets are made of “noble” flowers, then the points taken off are doubled.

All these details are not that important to begin with.
Everything is very simple - collect consecutive ones or the same ones but multi-colored.
As a rule, these are 2 sets of three stones (=6) and two sets of 4 (=8; 6+8=14), but there can also be 3 of 3 and 1 of five (these, of course, can only be consecutively of the same color).
